Also want functional affordable wheels that clear BBKs - don't care about concave and lips.

It's the same problem I'm having with my other car. I can't find affordable 17x10s in the correct offsets that will clear my BBK. I don't feel like spending $3K+ on one set of wheels. I'd rather have 2 sets of wheels for that price.

Main point was that I was agreeing with the OP about people tracking versus hardparking.

I used to go pick up wheels at Eagle/MSR and Allesio back in the beginning of the last decade. I would not buy those wheels to put on my neighbors grandmas DD.

Concave and lips are on the verge of being as lame as hellaflush. They serve no useful purpose on a track car.

Take a look at Ferrari, Porsche, BMW M-series, Mercedes Benz AMGs, Audi R8, GTR, etc. etc. None of them have any of that lame crap on their front wheels... Why? because they have massive 4-6-8 pot brake calipers. Function first, form later.

As for spacers - it doesn't matter what quality studs you use. The simple use of spacers increases wear and tear on your wheel-bearings/hubs. This doesn't matter for a street car, but for a track car, you'll kill them much much faster if you're on a ridiculous 15-20mm spacer.

Ameican Eagle has sub brand called MSR which makes some 15's in 15x8 and 15x9. Suppose 2pcs welded wheel and made in USA.

I disagree due to the bolt length. A longer bolt/stud will have a longer leverage arm on your bearings/hubs versus a shorter one.

So, a wheel designed for a specific offset using a shorter bolt/stud will be better than a wheel incorporating a spacer with extended bolts/studs.

I think part of the leverage is also related to how far away the bolt head/lug nut is from the hub.

A 40mm offset wheel with a 20mm spacer will put exactly the same load on the wheel bearing as a 20mm offset wheel.

Yes, a one-piece flow formed wheel.

Finalizing that now, but it will be very similar to their current 15x7 Spec E30/Miata wheel.

If more E30 guys went to the track vs hard parking on steelies at Kroger's that could probably happen.

Do they have a Spec Miata legal wheel? They have to weigh at least 13 lbs I think. If they do I lot of people who would be interested. I couldn't find info on the website
