I have only raced motorcycles, but I seem to remember that Avons are actually pirelli compounds, at least for MC tires.

The 'Kook Z214s are a little slower than Hoo-Hoos but faster than an RA-1 I am told, but wear more like an RA-1.

Mine have three track days and two auto-x days on them and have tons of rubber on them. Not sure if they'll heat cycle out before they cord.

i asked the guys at a local autox and one guy said one side of the tire was thicker than the other so it has a slope of some kind.
i find this kinda weird but can anyone confirm?

Avon's race tire is pretty good. Theres a great driver that pretty consitantly beats me even with my 710's. He's a better driver though. He likes the Avons.

I had avon slicks on the track this weekend. Best value for the dollar, they are on sale at tire rack. Even if the Hoosiers are better, I can't drive well enough to feel the difference.

I have avons and liked them from what i could tell. I only drove on them for about a month before i took my car apart but i hear good things.
