Just got my sets of sidemounts from Lee and they look GREAT. Very solid, precise product and the hardware included is top notch (as I would expect to use when mounting a seat)! Thanks to Lee for a great product and great customer service.
Seat should arrive next week. It'll be nice to shed some weight from the car!

VAC base mounts are indeed great. They help speed up the seat installation process. People don't often realize that a full day can be spent figuring out a rail and cross bar system to install race seats. Not cheap when paying a shop to do the work. VAC's system is great.
Brandon. I shipped your sidemounts this morning only as yesterday was a natuional holiday (Canadian Thanks Giving). I included all fasteners required, even sidemounts-to-seat. I even polished them with 320 grit and an orbital sender. I will charge $10 extra for toehr buyers. $80 - non sanded. $90 - sanded.
Anyway, they look great. You won't be disapointed. Send us pictures when they are installed. Depending on the width of your seat, you can bolt the mounts on the inside or outside of the BMW sliders.

Wow nice! Wish my seats were side mounted, I would love to "tilt" mine a bit for more grip.

Edge makes a low profile mount I believe... good thing I have access to fabrication tools for when I get back into this stuff next spring. :-)

Hi everyone. a couple of years ago, I made the first generation of those flat side mounts for FIA seats that can bolt to stock e30 sliders, or on aluminum angle rails. See picures below. I have just produced the second generation which positions the seats 1/2" lower than first generation mounts (see drawing and measures - the first 60mm height is for the BMW sliders).
Sidemounts are $90cdn + shipping. They are laser cut from raw T6-6061 aluminum sheets and you must polish them to your taste.
Mounted on BMW rails - Sorry for crappy shot.
Can be mounted very low on the floor pan with aluminum angles (e30 floorpan shown).
On my 2002
New design (Recaro SPG drawn).

^^I hear you, I just spent over $250 to have some work done to my sports and I dont want to get rid of them but I cant sit comfortably in my car with my seat backs at a 60% angle.
I would prefer my seats bolted to my floor.
Hell sitting upright my head hits the ceiling let alone with a helmet.

Anybody know if the Massive Brakes adapters allow mounting a seat lower than stock? Had my first track day on Saturday and my helmet rubbed the roof liner with the stock sport seats. I'm assuming I'll gain an inch or two of headroom by removing the headliner/sunroof, but more would be even better.
Also, any pics of the MB adapters would be cool.

I have a removable harness bar in my custom roll-bar. With fold-down seats, I'm able to load a set of four 225/50-R15 track tires in the back seat area. Couldn't do that with race buckets. The SRD's are also much more comfy in day-to-day use.

If you add sliders, then you'll lose around 1.0-1.5" of headroom. If you're the only person who drives your car, then you can probably live without sliders.

I just got pictures of Lee's sidemount adapters. Brilliant.
They use OEM sliders and look wonderful. I'm buying them and he only wants $80 cdn for each.

the buckle end of the belt would be mounted to your inside side mount and then everything else is the same. other bmw's that want to do this have to buy e30 recepticles since they can move attached to anywhere, while newer models have them built into the seat.
I run a 6 point harness in mine with recaro spg's but I still have the 3 point mounted for when i drive up to the track.
