Me and a co-driver campaigned a E36 328is in STS in 2004 (day1 sucked, but my day 2 times were in the top 10) and I've always thought that the BMW's were undersubscribed in STS. Sure, add the slip and run STX, but if the courses were big and not too tight the BMW had a chance. My co-driver never agreed so we bailed on the project after a year.

I wish you luck in STS, and I think you may have a chance.

BTW how much lowered are you. I'm surprised by your negative camber. Many lowered folks are running a bit more than that. I wonder if the 318 rear subframe or trailing arms is slightly different.

    Diego,

Your front coilover setup looks like it will be seriously lacking in wheel travel. What shocks are you using?

Well, just like with pretty much anything else out there, there are many options. Eibach Pro, Sportline, and then you got your race ERS springs of whatever spring rate / height your heart my desire.

Could be, altough I remember I had to add 1" custom aluminum spacer between the shock tower and the strut, because it was damn low the car and the back was too high, it looked like a freaking hot rdo my e30. Later they sent other front spring (Eibach) but were the same shit. Never again wanted to buy the Eibach Pro Kit. EVER!

Diego, the numbers they are referring to on the springs are the pound rating, as in 450 pound fronts and 650 pound rears on a coilover setup.

Biggest difference you will see would be in coilovers with good spring rates and a set of camber plates set to -3 to -3.5 degrees. Get that all working and tested out then you can play with sway bars. Also of course replace all the bushings front and rear.

Perfect! Thanks for the info. Like I said this is goign to be a e30 dedicated for AutoX, but my turboed 325i has coilovers with the shitty Type R coil over parts and springs made for the e36, also I do have konis. It sucks...what would happen if I go witht hese spring rate for my daily drive turbo e30 considering we have many pot holes, bump stops and shitty roads over here? It will be too much? Too stiff? I remember installling /bought new) Eibach pro kit stock spring perch, it sucked big time because they were absolutly hard-stiff springs and every pot hole I went over, it hitted hard and started to fuck up my whole car and parts. Then I switched to these coilover setup (cuted the e36 strut and dropped the konis since I have 5 lug swapp from 318ti car) andit's much more smoother the suspension, altough it bounces in iiregular roads and I don't liek it very much.

    Thanks,

    -Diego
