Oh im sorry I misread what you were saying.
Are you sure the bar is flush and in place when the plates over hang? Mine was doing the same on one side until I got the rear plates in place. Then everything fell together beautifully.

Thanks for replying. Yea, my rollbar must be an older model. My plates I'm guessing are about 50% wider than yours, so the end hangs over the bend in the floor. WTF am I supposed to do, fab something up?!? Ugh. I thought this thing was supposed to be a drop in deal.
I would do the bolts the same way. Easier to see if things are loosening up when they are on top

The bar style.
The rear mounting (wheel well)
The front mounting 1
side of floor mount.
Front 2 w/seatbelt
A couple of notes:
1. The floor plates are much more narrow for the new bars. My Autopower in the red car does not allow the seatbelt bar to be in place and I had to fabricate new ones.
2. The bar is attached right at the edge of the lip, this is to allow the seat belt bar to fit, (see last picture).
3. I know I installed the floor bolts upside down. I purposely did this because on the drivers side the fuel lines are in the way and everything fits better and cleaner this way. the passenger side was done this was for symmetry.
BMWpower, this is a clients car and i'll have it delivered tomorrow. If you have anymore questions or requests for pictures ask them now man.Last edited by Jparkr; 02-17-2009, 08:27 PM.

Anyone got any picts of their Autopower bar mounted to the floor? I got mine fitted in the car the other week but it seems like the bar is too narrow up front as the mounting plates don't sit directly over the flat part floor.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the padding sources. I will be trailering it, so I'm not too concerned about sound.
Good call on the silicone, blueapplesoda.

will you be driving this car to the track or trailering it? if driving, keep in mind that removing the carpet will substantially increase the road noise and make the car harder to tolerate for long distances. it will be bad enough with the back seat out as-is. padding can be purchased from many sources, apex performance, safe racer, solo racer, ioport, summit, pegasus, they all sell it. just do a search for sfi rated padding.
