    So update... I have added the BBK Massive Kit... and Arc-8 17x8... Looks like upfront I need a 25mm spacer... I have wrapped 235/40/17 on the 17x8, Toyo R1R rubber. Any recommendations on fender flares. I have Ground Control Coils and Camber plates as well... this is a E30M3 knuckle/suspension for other reference.

    Here early this year I will be seeing if I can fit 245/40R17 on Apex 17x9 et30 with Z3M suspension. Well see.. But will be the 250HP+ range. I'm thinking this will be needed. I don't want flares, I hope I can keep factory body lines.


    If I were still M20 I try and jam the biggest BBK under 15'' wheels and run 15x9 jongbloed wheels with 245/40R15. But I'm not so I'm just hypothesizing reality.

    I have 215/40/17 Falken Azenis on my 17x8 and they're stretched.
    No way I'd put a 215 on an 8.5" wheel.

    Concerned about the backside of the tire/rim and having to add spacers.

    For HPDE I run the ARC8 four lug ET20 wheels with 235/40/17 BFG Rival S square on a 1987 325i. Suspension is H&R race springs with Bilsteins, camber plates. Fenders are rolled and the liners have been removed. For the street I run 235/40 Yokohama S Drive's square, both sets of tires are very close to rubbing on the strut tubes up front but do not, no spacers used.

    215mmm tires on an 8.5" rim will stretch the tires' shoulders. Not a good idea. As we discussed over past emails, here's my recommendation in term of rim width vs tire section.

    8" rim - 225 to 235
    8-1/2" rim - 235 tire
    9" rim - 245

    The 17x8 has diff front face allowing better brake spacing.
    But then the tire sizes are at issue.
    Other wheels that are recommended?

    I have 17X8 over Massive Lee 300x22 kit and they fit fine, with tons of room. Another guy has the biggest kit Lee makes, the 332x32 kit under the same wheels.
    As far as using spacers, not sure. I'm running into my swaybar with 205/15's and ordered 10.5mm spacers from ECS.

    Fenders aren't rolled or anything though.

    Interested in the AD08's
    I've heard awesome things, but the life isn't as long.
    I'm a long time RE71-R fan, but I'll see how those do this season.

    It's going to depend a lot on the size and profile of the tire you select, how much camber you run, and how low/stiff your suspension is.

    I'm making the same move soon, 17x8.5" ~ET20. I plan on running 235/40-17 Nankang AR-1's. Coming from 16x8" ET18 with 225/45-16 Dunlop ZIII's.

    Looking for some thoughts/opinions. Embarking on BBK (Massive) upgrade which means moving from 16" rims to 17" rims. In looking at Apex Arc-8, 17x8 or 17x8.5 ET20 on both.
