Yea good point about the lack of a rear seat. My fuel pump was crazy loud when I had my rear seat out of the car.

that could be it too. The HP pump is brand-new and still buzzes (it's under the driver's rear door sill). So maybe I'll just roll and if it fails......it fails lol.

On another note though - if you go there, pull the heater fan from that 318i. Mine squeals like a pig. Another "I forgot it because it's not in plain sight" one.....even though it takes like 2 minutes to pull out.

I may just have to take a short workday this week and go get it. Though I pulled mine today and it looks brand-new, and there is no crap in the filter or anything, so maybe I'm just hearing it because it's loud....

    dammit!

There was an early e30 318 at the Jessup yard today, I took a bunch of parts off it and TOTALLY forgot to get the fuel transfer pump......GRR.

So, if anyone goes to the Jessup yard, pull that shit for me! The car is toward the back far end on the far right. IIRC it was white with diving boards

btw, there were 3 e30s there and several almost-complete 5-series in nice shape as well, plus several e36s. (at Jessup)

Can you bend the round ones on your car now?
They're not long enough to wrap all the way around. If I can't find some I may just cut these and weld them to the muffler itself in the righ tpositions to hook up with the stock hangers.

more annoyance at my lack of welder ownership/knowledge....grr.

Yeah, the stock rubber pieces are what I was talking about haha, thats how aftermarket mufflers are held up. Odd that it doesn't like up correctly though...

I think maybe I could use the same hangers, but seems it would make the exhaust stick out several inches past the bumper. Also I'm not real confident of the muffler hooks holding well on the "open" loops on the OEM hangers. I've mocked it up a couple times but can't really figure out a solution that won't have it fall off on course, lol.

no, they're in the same place. But my straps aren't long enough to go around the muffler I got from you.

Wait josh, you can't just use the mounting points for the straps like I suggested? Or are they in a different place on the m10 cars?

^^ this is all assuming that the M20 muffler straps are the same as the M10 ones. i'm too lazy to look this up right now. :)
no, I don't want the M10 ones. I have perfect-condition M10 ones, but my muffler is a circular profile (not oval like yours) so they won't work with the later-model muffler I got for free from Stuart/Spencer. I need the "ovular" ones...
