How real men remove subframe bushings

The tool looks like a long bolt with washers, a nut and a piece of pipe for the old bushing to slide into, Home Depot $15 tighting the bolt pushes the bushing into the trailing arm and pushing the old one into the pipe.

Damn, now i'm going to have to save old radiator hoses to set on fire while doing SF bushings. No smell during removal ? Thats like going to the drag races with nose and ear plugs. Couldn't you just fill the holes of the SF bushing with JB weld, insert a straw to relieve the trapped air and be done with it??

Where do i get that? I'm going to be doing my TA bushings, too.

Yeah you do have to sawzall off the outer sleeve. Just run a cut down the inside length of the sleeve, use a flathead screwdriver to peel the sleeve away from the wall at the cut, then it should fall out.

I drilled through the rubber as much as I could and just kept torching it. Once I was satisfied, I was able to knock the center out with a hammer. Now i've just got the outer sleeve to deal with.

we used a sawzall at first, it removed some of the rubber so that the flame could actually pass through from one side out the other.

Use something else if you can... Acetylene or MAP gas should get things going...

Don't use the fire technique. That's not good for your lungs. If your really in a jam pm me and we can try to set something up. I have access to a press and I'm in Louisville.
