I have never driven an E28, I would love to but, I guess it is more for the enjoyment of driving an old BMW than the performance aspect. It has character unlike most cars on the road today.

So true! they look way to small on the E38, but are perfect on the E30 and E28. I wonder what they would look like on an old bav, or E12...

I really love this part about the M5. Just about every time I drive it somebody has a nice comment to say about it. I'm not trying to say that I need to have people say nice things about my car to be fullfilled, rather I like that it brightens OTHER people's day. I had a nice chat at quizno's the other day at lunch time with a fellow that used to own a M635csi. Had the M88 and the dogleg gearbox! He was stationed in Germany at Rahn-Mein AB and bought it used from a rich banker from Frankfurt. He had it until sept 11th when he quit flying for the airlines and felt he didn't need the extra car any longer. He said it had under 60,000 km's on it! He's wanted another one ever since selling it, but life has moved on.

If I drove a honda or an E36, I'd never have met this nice man.

Yeah my E28 won't be for the track or performance, it will just be a sweet DD cruiser, complete with an interior, sound system, style 5s, etc. I mean, the thing has got an M20B27...
