It was said before, but get a different diff. Hands down the best improvement you can do if you can live with higher rpms.Leave a comment:

Awesome.. Thanks for all your help guys. I'll definitely be doing some research and hopefully be able to to go to meet on the 15thLeave a comment:

No problem. It should go without saying, but before you mod it make sure the car is up to snuff on maintenance (motor mounts, trans mounts, fluids, timing belt, valve adjustment, etc).
I wouldn't worry about adding power. I started tracking my 67awhp Subaru, and ran out of talent before running out of power.
Learn from our (my) mistakes: don't add power till you improve as a driver, it ends up being a crutch hindering your ability to learn how to keep up momentum.
Then again, power's damn fun, so......yea.Leave a comment:

Awesome.. That's what I was shooting fora) e30 exhausts are NOT restrictive, especially on an 'e' motor. Don't waste your time and money.
performance mods: Bilstein sports + H&R Sport or Race depending on your tolerance for NVH, TRMotorsport 15x8 + 225/15 Hankook RS3s, a better brake pad, and then track time.

Yes do that. Best performance upgrades you can do for a reasonable amount of money.
Also, info on the "2.7i" conversion: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...highlight=2.7i

Also, while exhausts aren't restrictive, they are very heavy. Just unbolt your exhaust from the headers, run some straight pipes to some dumps that terminate somewhere under rear bench seat. Slap a Flowmaster 40 in there if the noise is bothersome. eta motors can actually sound pretty dang good.
Done. ;)Leave a comment:

if you don't use AC, get rid of it, that is a good 50-75 lbs there, and do some research on an "i" swap. I heard it is relatively easy if you find an M20B25 head and ECU, and you get more power than the M20B25 makes in the end. But like I said, do research on that, I have only heard of it in passing, I have not dug too deeply into it.Leave a comment:

So with that being said.. Performance mod suggestions?
I'll probably go to a high flo cat after emissionsLeave a comment:

I figured as much.. Jus wasn't sure on my 85 I bought a intake kit from bavauto and didn't really notice any differenceLeave a comment:

What Luke said.
Also, best way to get more fast for cheap in an E30 is strip weight from the car.Leave a comment:

Kids, the guy wants a little more snap in his car, you don't have to do a swap to make your car more enjoyable. Chip (which he has, he spun to 6K, no ETA will do that) and a bit of gearing (he likely has a 2.93, that is a slug with a G260).
My point was that a cone filter and whatever crap along those lines will lose him power. It ain't a guess, it has been proven.Leave a comment:

Cai and exhaust rarely make any difference on these cars.
Better off chucking your interior, A/C, heavy oversized wheels, getting a diff and a Kirkey. :DLeave a comment:
