Considering the new ones BMW made were going for $180 at the dealer last I checked $100 is a bargin. I think the tricky part would be making it out of a plastic that doesnt look like shit. Can you vacuum form ABS and keep a texture on it?

Yes. But it stinks to high heaven while you're heating the ABS...

Would an upholstered fiberglass or aluminum one be appealing to people? The fiberglass ones the guy was making were just satin black painted, right?

I wouldn't do one in allouminium, seems like a nice way to blow your knees up in an accident if its bad. But if its bad your knees might be the least of your worries

You’d need to use black ABS. I’d be down if someone figured it out.

Doesn’t the airbag version have a giant metal structure living right behind the cover?

A new one is 160. It'll probably least another 25 years.

Does anyone have experience with an exhaust shop in the greater Seattle area?

I've got an E30 with an S52 swap. I'm thinking about picking up a Stromung muffler section and I'm definitely going to need some fab work done between the eBay headers and the muffler piping. Ideally with some resonators in there too. Bonus points if it's a shop that's familiar with these cars.

Heard good things about Stan's Headers, but probably pricy and they aren't open Saturday so I could never get there without taking a day off.

In for suggestions, though. Mine needs to be fixed.
