You couldn't give me that piece of shit. I pity anyone who buys it. God only knows what the prior owners have done to it...

^hahah yep same one. someone put new rims on it it looks like. Wonder if it's the same owner or someone else who just realized how bad it is? And is trying to make or recoup money

I'm going to go have a look at this event...

there may be some BMW clubs there, and I never know what I might find...

People have gotten some good deals at the Carlisle Import Swap Meet.
Sometimes enthusiasts just want to make space in the garage for a new project... yeah, I know :loco:

Actually, its much higher quality than that - looks like painted plywood panel.

Not as nice as real wood grain:

    This one? a 320i?

1991 320i 5 speed clean car. Has minor problems that anyone with motor skills could fix. Needs new rear wheel ball joints or bearings, makes a distinct sound when driving. Right now it is up in Ramstein. On the passenger side back quarter panel there was some obvious body work done the body is smooth just visibly noticeable that its not the same factory paint job. The driver window does not roll down the plastic window clip broke and I just never replaced it, can easily be found on ebay. Over all a pretty decent car, if you have some skills with a wretch, interior is very clean, tires on the car have good tread and the car has pretty nice looking rims on it right now. Also has a new battery put in about 6 months. I have pictures of the car, if you want to see them please email me. This is a O.B.O sale so don't be afraid to toss around some numbers I am sure we can work something out. BE ADVISED THIS WILL BE AN INOP TRANSFER. Thanks Guys! Obviously just a ballpark guess (especially if you have seen it in person, of course).

I'd like to find a decent early 3 series or a 1970's BMW2002 that I can use as
a daily driver. Without a speedo, this one is going to need attention right away,
but after fixing that, would it be driveable (21 miles each way to/from work)?

    Thanks in advance.

sometimes you can find a BSer and actually talk him into a good deal)

It's Jean Luc Picard btw. Because Trekkie.

I have that same Tach in my ETA $39.99 at O'Reillys but it's just stuffed on the dash.

Mark 42 - my .02 is that you can find a decent but needs work E30 for 1000 -2000 depending on the seller. The best finds aren't on CL IMO - just as Claus said. Hit up yard sales in your area ... you never know what you'll find (tools, a girlfriend, free cookies). You need to find "grandpa's" car sitting in a garage where the owner never drives it, yet throws up a for sale sign in the driveway.

I'll try a CL ad like you suggest (maybe closer to the weekend when I can go look).

I may take you up on your offer of the leads you didn't go with.
I'm a bit (okay totally) wore out and not all here right now (exhaustion
and a sinus infection have me really dim witted tonight). I'll PM you
    when I'm more coherent.

It amazes me how many people put for sale ads on CL with no phone,
or even asking for email, and never return emails. If I were selling, I'd
be right on top of responding to potential buyers.
Yea man no problem. Just let me know!

Heres something that I recently learned and worth a shot for you. I threw up a WTB post on craigslist and got tons of hits from people with e30's, something like 5 or 6 emailed me. They were ones not posted on craigslist.

I looked at that e30 and If your able to get a good deal then I'd say maybee look into it... If I recall he is moving soon so you could use that to your advantage.

Good luck hunting for the right car, may take you awhile. But I would forsure start with a craigslist add. PM me if you want a couple of leads that I shot down. :)
