ya first it was grill cleaner but oven cleaner is the straight dope
spray it on and then buff itll turbo it.
oven cleaner dissolves oxidation pretty fast. leave it on for 15 minutes, and then wipe it off
similar substance is in rubbing compound this is more.
wear a mask theres definitely amonia in it. Grill cleaner is probably better stuff alittle milder.
but you use it theen you wipe it off is the key point you dont leave it on for days and wax over it theres some danger in it. Im using it to get bad cllear coat that rubbing compound isnt really affecting.
but its great for any dull paint and fast. Id show you some pics but you shuld just try it for yourself.
Its also way better than wheel cleaner. wheel cleaner is like 5% oven cleaner 95% water.Last edited by stamar; 08-27-2012, 06:39 AM.Leave a comment:

Personally I would never use a drill as a buffer. Griots makes amazing products, and so does 3m. They are however more expensive
And oven cleaner???Last edited by achtung911; 08-27-2012, 05:25 AM.Leave a comment:

ya so is 3m hand glaze and nu finish I use them all.
I use a more expensive wax because carnuba is yellow. But if all I had was carnuba wax I would use it. Come to think of it I use cheaper wax too. To me a yellow finish says newbie to me homemade. no offense to anyone.
But it seems to me other than rubbing compound we use a similar stuff.
I do have a buffer and I also have lots of 1000 grit sandpaper.Leave a comment:

Tr3 is a resin glaze. I use a carnuba wax after tr3. The resin glaze can only be used once a year, as it makes a really tough shell, but will come off with a fine cutLeave a comment:

k let me know what you would replace in my detailing arsenal in order.
I have a drill attachment with wool and foam.
I do turtle wax rubbing compound. Sometimes starting with oven cleaner which I find works great.
Ok then I do 3m hand glaze, or when that runs out I have nu finish. Or Ive also used tr3 all similar in my mind.
And then mothers reflections wax.
I dont have anything called a sealant I guess that is wax for me.
What am I missing? What am I using that doesnt work
I unfortunatley detail a lot of carsLast edited by stamar; 08-26-2012, 09:23 PM.Leave a comment:

I have a cutting buffer with a 3m wool pad, and used an egg crate foam pad with 3m swirl remover. Then I used my griots random orbital with a foam pad and griots number 3 polishLeave a comment:

What type of polishing device did you use? I'm looking for a palm type polisher. I saw one being used on kid325e's ix at griots a few years ago, the day before the e30 picnic.Leave a comment:

thats hilarious. I didnt either. Im pretty sure someoone did though back in the day but I cant remember who did.
I just put on a regular vert fender. I dont actually weld anything.
whoever does weld body parts is a bit of a bad ass. Way out of your league obviously and mine. i just replace body parts really.Last edited by stamar; 08-26-2012, 07:44 PM.Leave a comment:
