2. Tell him some story about how your Dad used to have one, before he died. You won't drive anything but an E30 because of that, but sadly you can only afford the rust bucket since every other E30 cost 10 grand.

So, I can't say I've ever resorted to actually arial viewing the dudes house, but I believe that place belongs to a guy that races BMWs and is/was in PRO3. I went to school with his son. He's probably not selling because he's using the cars for parts, not because they are mint running E30's that he is letting rot.

Or it's a different guy.

You bastards actually drove me to being a creeper. It's been about 7 years, but I went looking for the house that I thought was his via google earth, and I can't find anything in the area I was looking that looks like the shot you posted. So it's probably not the guy I'm thinking of, but that doesn't mean it isn't a guy with a legitimate reason for having BMWs parked in his yard. Instead of approaching looking to buy, you could approach him wanting to talk about BMWs and E30's. If you develop a relationship with the dude he might be willing to share with you. Or, leave him alone :)
