This is a big area. You guys with the big tents will have plenty of room. And you can all pile in and sleep (as Buck says) nut-to-butt with your friends.
October 24-27
More info to come.....

Horseshoe pits and volleyball courts are provided. Reservations should be made about three weeks in advance for this area. Flush toilets and hot showers are available. (Reservations required.)

I like the fact that it's closer to the Skyway, since it's the better road anyway...

Rattler Ford is a group only site. $50 a night with all pitching in that is nothing. And they have hot showers. Site#4 is back in the woods away from the rest of the campground.
Perfect for the group we have.
Spent some time sitting with the host and talking about our group. He was very accommodating to our needs for the rally. ie; will work with us on parking and such.
Dates would have to be 24-27th.

Looking into a house that is large to just rent out might be fun. Or cabins.
Or just 'rough it' and all stay at the Robbinsville Microtel. When I rolled up there to McDonalds was POPPING at 11-12 at night. Lots of camo, trucks and 'party'.

From what I understand, Cade's Cove has been crossed off the list permanently.
I think the Brodeo has traditionally been a tent camping event, and there are usually 25-30 that show up. I don't know how well it would work with that many trying to coordinate cabins or rental houses.
The only time a hotel came in to play was at the last one, when it was raining so hard and for so long it was impossible to set up on the first night.
That said, a Brodeo one day in the future will see me in an RV with one of the E30s in tow.

Cade's Cove can be craptacular if there is a lot of traffic or heavy patrols.
Fontana can be a little pricey, but the cabins are nice.
Used to go every year for Miatas. The best place I stayed was sharing a house with 8 or 9 other people a couple miles from the 28/149 split. Cheaper than most of the resort and hotels. Have also stayed at the Phillips Motel (in Robbinsville), nice old lady owns it and they have a little diner. Close to groceries, restaurants, etc. Not off the grid, but more centralized.Last edited by kung fu jesus; 07-26-2013, 01:27 PM.

In addition to finding a site, we need to start thinking about possible dates...
