There's probably some measurable (with sufficiently precise instrumentation) pressure difference at the turbine outlets, but there's no chance it makes a noticeable difference in performance until you're...

Stock for stock it definitely sounds better than anything they make today. Especially the M3/4 which continues to sound like total ass. I would really like to know who greenlit the exhaust tuning on those...

BMWs in general sound like ass, especially modern ones, I have no doubt the B38 would be any different.
As for all of this N55 talk, plus talk of sound. This one has been making the rounds...

Other way around. Regardless of typo, do you really think 50hp is going to be lost going from engine dyno to chassis in an E30 at this level? That's almost over 3x what is lost in a stock car, which will...

I dunno, I can wheelie or take corners at above the speed limit just fine on a grom. Groms have quite limited lean angle though so you have to get goofy with the body positioning....

Metal radiators leak too. I had to replace one in my old Volvo after it refused to take solder repairs.

At this point the E30 is probably one of the most heavily documented cars of all time when it comes to wheel fit, you aren't doing anything new here so look it up and use willtheyfit to compare to posts...

Aww great now people are going to think I listen to farah I bring up the "screens are cheaper" thing, that guy annoys me. I've been saying this is a cost thing since the first teslas hit the...

Enthusiasts are such a small sliver of the buying public and a majority of car buyers do next to no research before buying new cars, I don't think there's any possible avenue we could take that would...

I know, it varies, but that's going to translate to what? Maybe 270-280whp? I'm sure the number of M20 builds that have been on engine dynos for an honest bhp figure is much smaller than those which have...Last edited by varg; 04-05-2024, 06:25 AM.

Did you run a tooth log while revving out and look for lost sync/pulse pattern? Just odd that it doesn't miss in neutral but will under load. I don't know if you have a single coil or not, but at 4,500rpm...

My only instance of "nice" with VAG was finding out just how tunable my friend's B8.5 S4 was with an overdriven supercharger using electronic boost control. Easy to make it pretty quick. However,...

I'm assuming you've tested for voltage at the connections and know the problem is with the grid and not the circuit that feeds it. Look for breaks in the grid, you can usually find them easily and repair...

My main issue with "electrify everything" is that it just is not practical from a physical point of view. Bar an immense breakthrough in battery technology (which is perpetually 5-10 years away),...

I am using a different solenoid than I was before the rebuild, it would be unusual for both to have the same issue imo and both bench tested fine. MS output wise, this is a binary setup. The MS turns...

Taking a transmission off is a pain in the ass. Any time I'm in there I replace what might need it. That looks like it's resurfaceable, but if not it's a replaceable steel plate so I'd do it.

Unplugging it isn’t necessary to disable it, I just turn the output off in my tune. FWIW I did change the oil this past weekend and use synthetic, turned the vanos back on and found that predictably...
