have a new rubber coupler on the way - figured if i have to take out the shaft may as well do everything down to the rack. I was hoping there was just some adjustment. But i guess thats not the cas...

Thank you. Debate if just getting an eBay shaft would be easier. But also don’t really see how it comes off of there…. Loosen pinch bolt, big nut, and then other pinch bolt in engine bay?

not sure what you mean here. The wires are the same size coming from sending unit to connector....
