The the foot brake linkage is adjustable, thats what i adjusted i think is more like the system warming up and expanding particularly the oil in the mastercylinder...

I had this problem on my 1985 e30 after fitting a new master cylinder, it only happened when the brakes wormed up, simple fix, I gave the rod ajustment a bit more free play whilst the brakes were hot...
