I think the one I have is fine, but I just decided to go with Walbro. I can definitely hear it, so I might put in some sound deadening at some point, but happy that it does what it's supposed to do....

I'm pretty sure I've seen an E30 rack rebuilt on YT, and it didn't seem too bad other than being a lot of little parts. Don't recall any special tools standing in the way either...

I think if they are they are, but sometimes they're not. (i,e. none of us can really say for sure). In my case, the TRE behaved oddly in my S52 swap, but I'm not 100% sure it was the pump.
