    Custom Exhaust?

I'm thinking of doing a custom exhaust with a cat delete on my e30. It's a 3.25i. From what I've read, it's not worth getting a header(?) correct me if i'm wrong. So if I do this custom exhaust set up, I am going to cut up the catalytic coverter, so it will be a direct bolt on and bolt off.

I'm thinking of it going from a 3-2-1 then back to 2 for the OE muffler to deaden the sound.

Flame me! I'm ready! I'm new at all this :)
I got a fender roller now! LMK if you need me to roll your fenders or want to rent the tool from me locally.

Did you check out the exhaust forum? There's quite a bit there.

Depends on what kind of headers you get and what you're hoping to gain. Headers really don't add much to a stock motor, if anything.

I got LT headers,no cats and a set of glasspacks on a stock eta engine, and yes it did help some. Not much, but you can tell a little change in power.

Alright, so the more I think about this, the more I am ready to do this. I have been researching a bit and seeing what everybody else has. But now I am confused with numbers as far as the pipe sizing.

I have to have 1 pipe from the headers to the muffler. What size should I be running, a 3"?

I have access to the welder and pipe bender, so this will probably be a few day process.

              Yay!

3" is too big for a N/A engine. 2.5" is the max you should do.

Hmmm, alright then, 2.5" is the way to go! Woot woot. Looks like this will be a project for after the NAWZZ install :)
