    Fixing the head!!!

Let me first start off by saying i am on a huge budget, so i am trying to do this cheap. Please dont flame me for this:(. I think the head is cracked on my m42. it over heats and i have replaced all the cooling coponets. I have a lead on a used but in good shape4 head for cheap. What gaskets/bolts, or anythings else do i have to replace. What is the bear minimum?

I need this car running. thank you for all your support.

BTW, i replaced the thermostat, the water pump, the raditator, the raditor cap, and the hoses. It still over heats. It seems to get worse the higher the rpms.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You might just need a head gasket. If that's the case you should take your head to a machine shop and have them check for cracks. If the head is okay you should have it decked.

You would most likely need the profile gasket, head gasket and head bolts (the used head bolts shouldn't be reused as I believe the stock head bolts stretch after install).

may add to that the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets as mine were toasty and didn;t seem reuseable.
