    Tan interior for black interior

I'm sick of having tan interior. I want to trade my tan interior for black interior. Must have sport seats, not comfort seats. The door cards are in pretty good shape. The drivers side handle piece down by that thing by your feet has a little crack. Nothing major. The back seat is perfect. A straight across trade preferably. Any questions, just PM me. Or respond here.

Note: The pictures are really old, I have cleaned it out since then.

Good luck with that trade, everyone wants the black interior. I once got a set of black sport seats for 150 bucks... man I wish I had thought about taking those out before I sold the car...

why don't you just spray them black? it works really well. i did this in my 2002 when i had it and was very surprised and content with the out come. it is also very quick and easy.

Do you have any pictures of the process? How does it smell when it gets warm..any fading/rubbing off onto clothing?

I actually did this years ( and years and years) back in a convertable (triumph tr-3) in florida as the black interior was way to stinking hot

I sprayed the seats and door panels in tan . it was supposed to be temporary until I bought new seats and door panels. ended up never buying them, and they lasted at least 6 years with only the drivers seat needing a respray after about 4 years
about a year into it, I transfered back to the washington dc area, and then here to orygun so they went through all the temp extremes

                        they held up extremely well

I remeber that they did stink for about the first week, but they were able to breathe being all laid out in a carport for a few weeks

but these days with environmental friendly stuff, I dont know how the new stuff holds up

the vinyl and fabric paint from Duplicolor is what i used on the doors of the m3, eric. worked out excellent. its paint so it doesnt smear or rub off. might fade over time but all paint does that. you could start out with the front and rear panels, even the rear deck to tone it all down. you can get that done with about a can, maybe can and a half. then do the seats later?
