So here we go. I went to buy another e30 today (witch I gotta say I was very exited about) but anyway. The car was priced at $550 so I thought I would check it out. The interior was 9 out of 10 (even thought it wasnt the sport seats) the engine seemed to purrrrr nice i.e. it didnt sound like it needed a valve adjustment, all the hoses and belts where brand new. So this is where it gets interesting the kid tells me the car needs just one more belt (alt/fan) a battery, and it leaked oil so I was like ok well 500 dollar car then of course its going to have 500 problems. I give him the money makes me sign a paper that jus says car sold as is with signature also then he says he has to do a couple thing so he leaves and I do the same, off to take it home. I stopped at the gas station for some munchies and something to drink, get back in the car, put it in reverse (btw forgot to say its auto:() and NOTHING.....Long story short, I pushed the shit to back it out the parking, drove it to the kids house and dropped it off in front of his yard. I call the kid he says he told me all the problems the car had and that it drove fine before he sold it to me. I told him the only reason I bought this car WAS CUZ "he told me what the problems were" and for 500 I figured that the problems that it had werent major enough for me to worry too much. Anyway hes supposed to check it out tomorow and tell me wats up with it but honestly if its any problem with the tranny I cant afford to fix it and I REALLY cant afford a 5speed swap with my baby coming soon. I just dont even want the car anymore. What do you guys think can I just ask for my money back?

Did you get the title? If you don't have the title in your name, you technically don't own the car, whoever has the title does right? Idk if Cali is different on that though. I mean it's really up to the kid I guess, it depends if he'll take the car back and give you your money, but I wouldn't bet on that.Originally posted by ak-Support is where it's at. Like a bra. This guy has his bra off though. He lives dangerous and shameless; i like him.

reminds me of this. http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=190192
Id say just go to the kid, explain the situation and hope he is understanding. Being a prick will likely get you nowhere. Be nice and tell him had you known reverse didnt work you would have never bothered.
Good Luck

He should take the car back. My buddy bought a car which was supposedly a 325is from some guy. He brings it home, i look it over, and its a 325e with a 325is trunk lid. The guy didnt want to take it back, said sale was final. I threatened with taking him to court and he took it back the next day. That car was a piece of shit too.

That sucks man, but your SOL im afraid.
I know if i sold a running car to somebody in that condition (judging by the pictures it looks fine) for $500 and the next day you came back with it I would show you the as is no warranty expressed or implied paper which you signed and wish you upon your marry way.

Whats with you guys wanting to return cars after you bought them. This isn't the return line at wal mart. You bought it, now eat it. Sold as is, means AS IS! Not trying to sound mean. But dont take someones word, look the car over, take it for a drive and use your head before you make the jump.

Well in any case that I dont get my money back the car is for sale for what I got it for $550. DONT WANT IT.sigpic(OO=[][]=OO)
