    Awesome 10" Woofer

No relation, I just happen to have one of these, they are excellent.

2 1/2" voice coil, SVC, 100 oz. magnet, cast aluminum frame.

I think I may buy a couple more. They fit my boxes and they are burly beasts.

Seriously. I'm going to need a 10" woofer for my MG in the future. I don't mind holding onto it until I need it.

This thread is reminiscent of 99 cent speakers.

When I see a deal, I share it.

I have one of those woofers sitting in my garage right now. It does fit in my E30 boxes.

I am aiming to get them to fit the E34 boxes, since I start on them tomorrow.

It is HUGE for a 10, a 2.5" VC is rare and wonderful...we are talking 350 HP E30 kind of motor. Don't know about SQ, as the spec sheet is useless and I cannot find actual Theil/Small parameters on this woofer.

I feel nice to me though, and it sure is burly.

Worth getting one to swap out with a Reference 1062W?

Nope, you will lose half your sub power: SVC 4 ohm.

Your amp needs 2 ohm...but you already knew that.

Yep. Impedance isn't listed anywhere on the site though.

                  Yeah, just says SVC.

I think you and I should talk about tuning on your setup. I have heard the exact combo you have, it is stellar when I tune it, you have to have something wrong.

The big issue is what amp you are gonna use with it

i'm pretty much open for suggestions, I was originally planning on a mono amp for the sub and 4ch for components but if that's unnecessary i'm fine with a good 5ch amp. I just don't know what's good.

If you are gonna do a 5 channel OR a true 1 channel, your gonna want DVC.

I know it gets old seeing the same crap from me, but pretty much all cheap amps come from the same assembly lines no matter the brand name.

Pick the power you want and pick the looks you like, as long as it has variable high and low pass filters. I like to see a subwoofer level control too.

Hey Luke, ordered one of these subs today. I have a Pioneer GM-5400T amp. 380 watts x1 bridged. Too powerful for this sub or will it work?
