Local friend of mine entered his E30 M3 a few times now.
Finished 10th in class in '09 and also ran into a house one year. :D

This was before the wreck but it was quickly repaired back to this stage.
(sorry for the lame fb pic)

And in the race the year prior this e36 M3 ran in to the very same house!

        Awesome race.

The yellow car is in CT chapter, I meet him at the last Ice Cream social, he was discussing the race and how wild the ride was.

That famous house is in the town of Garnish. See map.

As you turn left off Barrisway St, away from the water and up Marshs Rd, the laneway suddenly becomes much narrower and the corner always has lots of gravel thrown on it from people cutting the corner. It would be really really easy to slide wide and nail that house on the outside of the corner, as has been done several times already in the past. Coming to that corner I made sure to warn Martin, "Turn Right, loose gravel, DON'T hit the house!"

Just a few corners later, where the route comes along Well Path Rd back down to the water, there's a bad bump just before the Tee-Right onto Barrisway St. That's where the Porsche 944 went straight off into the harbour in 2006.

Someone nailed a different house this year, located here. Coming north the main road goes over a bit of a crest into a sharp left at a junction. They went straight off and, once on the downslope on the gravel and wet grass, they slid a loooooong way until finally stuffing the car into the basement of this house.

                  There is video here: http://www.motoringtv.com/targa-trailer--p142284

Time for some water barriers as they know of this issue and I'm sure at this point Insurance is not covering damages to the house.

By the way, is your 240 repairable?

The car was pretty much messed up, with all sorts of expensive bits busted.

                        Martin was bummed.

The car sat untouched inside his trailer for over a month looking like this, before he finally perked up and decided to repair it in time for us to do the Tall Pines Rally in November.

Our Tall Pines stories and in-car videos are in this thread on SpecialStage.com.

For a sample of that fun, check out this stage:

We are definitely planning to be at the New England Forest Rally again this summer. Hope to see you and your E30 there!

That bulldozer shot is classic! I guess that's what they mean by 'heavy sweep'?

My cage builder and I both plan on being ready for Maine this year, so hopefully we'll have both our E30s ready to roll... uh, I mean ready to move forward, in an upright fashion. Making my logbook bid this Sunday.

I can't believe that car is back in action!

For some inspiration, see the other photos Martin posted in this reconstruction thread: http://www.rallyanarchy.com/phorum/read.php?5,42716

He actually ended up replacing the destroyed rear subframe with one he cobbled together from two other bent subframes -- one bent on the right, the other bent on the left. He cut them each in half and then welded the two good halves together to make one almost perfect new subframe.
