    Reality check on a 1992 325i

New to this forum and the world of E30s, thought I could ask you guys what you thought about this car I found on autotrader:

    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

I spoke with the owner, and he said that his friend in Texas found him this car, so he bought it, "fixed?" it, and brought it to South Florida. He's only owned it for a few months, just to sell it seems. I put fixed in quotes because it was hard to understand who exactly did the work and when. Claims he has all the paper work though. It's been on the site for at least a month now...started at 7800, up to 8900, then down to 7900, 7500, and now 7350.

    Thoughts? Good price? Thanks!

I'd want to know exactly what was done with the engine.

Appears to be pretty mint in the pics. $6k is high for it, but it wouldn't surprise me. Mint 92 calypso cab with a 5speed.

looks like its in amazing shape, despite the terrible pictures. I wouldn't be surprised if that car fetches $6k.

That as is a joke the only option is a CD player everything else is standard. And the only air bag on a 92 is Driver's in the steering wheel.

6k is way high especially since its not an mtech and given it had to be "fixed" who knows how the car has been treated. cuz as far as im concerned if u maintain your car properly there should be no "fixing"

I was in your same shoes very recently, looking around for a e30. I looked at everything from $900 POS to $7500 all most perfect cars all around the country. Lets say everything that has been done to motor is everything you would want done and everything is perfect on the car, because its a vert it will never get that much money. But if your looking for a nice vert, maybe its worth it to you to spend more and get a nice car you want.

You couldn't be more wrong. a very clean plastic bumper verts go for just as much and in most cases more then hardtops.

Finding a good clean hardtop isn't so hard, finding a good clean vert? not so easy at least not here on the East coast.
i paid 6200.00 for mine 7 years ago with 87k and in great condition.
i would get offers all day for it in the 8-10k range when it was on the road.

i will have dumbed 25-28k in it not including the cost of the car itself over the next month or so and thats not including the previous mods that where done when i first got the car. (suspension, wheels, top, top was good just slightly faded for my taste )

i doubt i would ever see even half of that if i ever sold it but thats not something im worried about.
i built it to keep it forever. cheers

I'm just saying what I ran across during my seeking of a e30, don't claim to be a expert. What I ran across was a clean 2dr 5sp hardtop would be gone before I could get a call made and the clean verts would still be for sale for longer periods of time. Hey I love them all, this is no dis on verts, just think there are more people looking for hardtops which drives the pricing.

Yea no question hardtops sell quicker but a lot of that has to do with practicality for every day use.
Location is also a big factor.
I to love them all, even the baur that so much hate lol (I'm still looking for one:( )
There's just something about the lines on an e30 that just gets me.....
