    Biggest bore / Stroke

Ok I have been searching for a really long time know.... And really havent seen anything bigger then a 4.6? Does anyone know if anyone has gone to 5.0?? I was wondering? I know I could just buy a s62, but I think it would be cool with a m60. What do you guys think??? I know I need to do more research but wouldn't a b40 crank with m50 f-rods and some custom pistons would to it??

Anything is possible but I'm pretty sure because the cylinder walls are coated as opposed to a sleeve there isn't much you can do in the way of overboring.

Very quickly... I think their M6X/S6X sleeving service starts with sleeves to the tune of $1K, custom piston set to the tune of $1500+ and then their labor to machine the block and press in the sleeves... Probably somewhere north of $3500 before you get it back. Granted, it's then pretty much bulletproof, but with a bottom end like that, you know you'd want cams, P&P on the heads, maybe a set of ITB's or a FI setup, so it gets up near $10K real quick... A lot of money, without a doubt...

I'd say if you have money to sleeve an M60 just buy an S62. Plenty of power for a street car. Hell just the timing chain guides, headgaskets, water pump, crankcase vent system and complete engine reseal (top to bottom gaskets) for my M60 was about $1000 in parts at my dealer cost. That's not even including the timing chains themselves (another $100 or so) or the upper tensioners (about $95 a pop). My two cents.

                Here you go - http://www.vacmotorsports.com/catalo...ng-service.htm

If you picked it up for $100, then why not spend 1k-2k and make it reliable :)

I believe there are also 4.8 liters out now, if you check BFC there are a couple guys on there who have done to work with m5 cranks.

Lol, I wonder how much it is to maintain an S62 over M62 ;)

I am at $500 for head testing/rebuild...not counting bottom end or any parts yet. I figure I'll be at 2k easy, but should not lick a drop of oil and go for years to come.

yeah I have no problem on spend the money to make it reliable. Im just trying to find the right specs to make it 5.0. I also own R&M-Racing with my friend. So I plan on having kits for the whole sawp after I am done.

Not worth it at all. Just put a blower on the m60 to make the power, or choose a different engine. If you want displacement get an LS1, it's a better engine in EVERY respect.

The money you'll throw at the m60 wont even come close to S62 numbers or drive-ability because you wont have the Double Vanos working for you. Also you will want a nice set of cams and head work to compliment the bottom end. You can get an S62 for as cheap as $4k, I've seen a few now in the past 6 months go for that cheap on bimmerforums.
