    IX Skirts / Flares Mounting..

So I'm currently looking at finally getting some skirts for my car.
I really prefer the IX skirts and flares, but if that requires drilling holes into my fenders, then I do not want to do it.
Is there a way to mount skirts without the flares? And anyone have pics?
I would prefer IS skirts..but they're rare, and require painting to DS.

Just drill the holes and buy the mounting hardware, which can be a bit pricey. I do have the templates for the front and rear fenders though. I can make copies and you can tape them to the body so you drill in the right spot. The rockers are easy to align and transfer the drill spots from there, just apply masking tape and press the mounting spikes to the tape and you will see where you need to drill them.

i am doing mine this weekend--can you send the template to me?

Mounting hardware WAS EFFIN EXPENSIVE!!! more than my whole kit--i think?

looking at the pieces, i think pop rivets can work.

you can do it without drilling. just use the 3M body tape that BMW sells for the ix kit and make sure it's CLEAN when you put it on (no wax or oils). then use the rest of the clips that do not require drilling holes in the fenders. the 3M tape, properly applied, is SUPER sticky. I had a harder time getting the tape free on my parts car than all the clips and grommets..

i just put them on couple of days ago. Didn't drill any holes. Used Scotch double stick tape for Outdoor use from Home Depot. Its really sticky and works even better when applied with a heat gun. gave the car and the body kit a good wash. make sure to wash the inside of the body kit and underneath the car where they are going to attach. Then used an old rag and prep-all (wax and grease remover) to wipe the grime from underneath car and the inside of body kit. I started with the front and worked towards the back. Came out awesome.

The fender mouldings fit fine with a little heat gun and a soft mallet. However, when i tried to put the black mouldings back on the quarter panels, it wouldn't fit. Does anybody know if they require a different size moulding? sorry to thread-jack.

IS skirts aren't that rare and can be had for $250 shipped and includes all the mounting hardware. There's a group buy going on right now, think it's still open. Or holler at Levent.

Edit: here is group buy thread http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...=228553&page=2

250? I remember you could get everything with harware for less than 150.

I had the same problem. Def is a different size--my driver side did not line up too well. I will redo tomorrow.
