I'm sure he was referring to swapping the differential and not just the internals.

plenty of automatic 325i's with 4.10 ratio LSD units in them. they are completely identical to the e30M 4.10 LSD rear end. there is nothing special about the diff unit just because it was from a WBS car.

Similarly a E34M5 LSD center capsule is no different than the E32 750il unit. Gearing ratio is the difference.

No need to pay a premium for a WBS LSD unit, in fact they are usually much more worn out inside than one from an automatic car.

Wagan, you may not have noticed the kid is down under in OZ.
Where just getting any LSD may be hard and he is just jumping on the one that is available from an M3.
No one said it was better or worth more coming from an M.
Also it could be one of a slew of different ratios not just the 4.10 that the US was limited to.

                I read.

I know for a fact that down under they have OEM LSD's avail in e30's sold in AUS. Also LSD units themselves avail. I have shipped plenty of LSD's / Gearing for e30 usage to AUS/OZ.

Gearing in 3.90 and 4.10 and 4.27 and 4.45 in 188mm are popular in the AUS/NZ market for track use / rally E30's.
3.15 and 3.23 in 188mm is also requested for boosted e30's.

LSD units in all flavors are popular globally. :)

I have a LSD in my car at present but my mate wants it and i want more of a sprint diff.
So i think 3.73 will be the diff for me, considering i do a fair bit of motorway driving.
Most of the LSD's that i see selling in oz are around the $1000 mark, and i think ill get this diff for well under those prices.
