is this an old pilot bearing... ive never seen one like this before? what ever it is its stuck in the crank and ideas how to get this fucker out?

Grease gun. Fill it tight as you can manage with grease, then hammer a bolt into the center..it will force that fucker out, and lube up where your new one will sit to boot.

Welll a small pick thats 90* might be able to wedge it out with some effort. A slide hammer is really what you need... Thats about all the methods I know of. Lol and no sliced bread is good, but not for a pilot bearing removal.

bread is actually great. use wonder bread for extra power up!
I actually prefer Pita bread, because its a PITA.

stuff bread in hole, find bolt that fits the hole with minimal clearance.
use bolt to compress bread in hole, keep doing it untill bearing is forced out.

the high pressure bread will also clean out dirty old grease, rust etc.

Grease and a drive pin frequently works. But if it doesn't you'll need a hook type puller.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I've heard wet newspaper works well too, but it didn't work for me. I ended up having to get a slide hammer like usual.

and that is not the pilot bearing, it's the dust cover. the pilot bearing is behind it.

I was going to say the wet newspaper method, but its been said, so I'll add to the method with this; use a wooden dowel instead of a bolt, you can sand it down to get a tighter seal, and wood is less likely to mar any surfaces.

Dude. Get a pilot bearing puller. Hooks to a slide hammer.

If you use the news paper trick you can use your clutch alignment tool to push the wet newspaper. It's sized perfectly, but you will probably ruin your clutch alignment tool if you use a hammer without reservation.

                              Wet (mushy) paper towels/hardwood dowel/safety glasses/hammer/determination.

PS: Old junk sawed off input shaft is ideal.
