5 lug suspension shock and spring setup

Ok here we go...i just order e36m3 bilstein sports for the front and getting e30 sports in the back but i dont know what springs to get H&R race or IE3 springs? i had eibach springs in the front and vogtlands in the back but had a wheel gap in the back....so my question is which will H&R race springs or IE3 springs drop it more in the back while keeping low in the front Note(i have 17's on front and back) heres a pic of eibach and vogtland setup thanks!

does the m3 front shock work for the lighter weight of the e30?

Yes, also by judging your avatar you have a dohc motor in and that will add weight to front as well.

H&R Race or IE3's will be about the lowest drop in springs you can go with so the answer to your question is yes.
I'd go with the IE3's as they are marginally lower and are cheaper.

Actually the B&G springs are suppose to sit lower than both IE3 and H&R. That's why I went for those for my own 5 lug swap....My question for you guys is what kind of top hat are you using? the center hole in the stock e30 ones are too small to fit the nut that fits the e36 strut. I can't get a socket inside to tighten the nut. I machined down a socket and tried grinding the inside of the hat but its still a very tight fit. any suggestions????

E30 to hat and used a socket that grinded down.

are you using e30 front springs or e36 ones? .....because the e30 front springs are much smaller in diameter than the e36 springs. im just gonna use a pad underneath and hope for the best.

I used e30 springs. The perch is the same but now your putting an e30 top hat on an e36 strut. It works. Only thing that sucks is that nut up top. Honestly never thought of using a smaller one. I would try that if possible. I ended up with coilovers very soon after doing the swap so it was all for nothing.
