Back on track: E30 8",10" and 12" Subwoofers

    Hey R3V, good morning!

We have a couple E30 8" LTW, 10" boxes and a 12" in stock and ready to ship.

These are the famous "Luke Boxes" known for incredible sound quality, flawless fit and generally offer zero rattles. Almost everyone who has heard one will agree, this is the best sounding subwoofer money can buy.

Hand built from solid high-quality MDF, using top quality glues, 100% silicone sealants and very good quality carpet. These are very custom fit for your E30 and will provide years of top quality bass in your car. You will not see anything that fits as well or sounds as good for any price.

These enclosures are so efficient, you will not need to use a huge amp or a huge woofer to get huge bass. You can expect SPL better than 130db with only 300 watts using only a $75 woofer...and amazing sound quality, far superior to most home subwoofers, with a level of clarity and detail most people are not even aware exists. You can expect to hear the best bass you have ever heard in a car for very little money.

We have sold and shipped well over 600 boxes and virtually all of our customers say the same thing...this is the best value in car audio.

    Here are some pics:

8" LTW box (under 30 pounds for a complete, high quality sound in your E30!)

    So very pretty!

100% of the bass energy sealed into the cabin!

    Tiny when installed

These are $175 plus shipping. We have these built and will ship within 24 business hours!

The E30 10" is our most popular enclosure, the famous "Luke Box" as shown in the "killer $500 stereo" thread:

We offer these in gray or black.

As always, 100% of the bass energy is sealed into the cabin

We get a lot of questions about the back seat muffling the sound. If you have questions or concerns, please email us, we can answer whatever questions you might have. You don't need a fold down armrest to get incredible bass!

These boxes are tiny when installed:

The woofer fit is so pretty! The face of this box has a layer of top quality closed-cell foam under the upholstery. That, combined with our incredible fit, is how we make a proper airseal. This airseal keeps your car quieter and your bass louder!

These boxes are $200 in black or $220 in gray, plus shipping from 98531. We have them in stock NOW, jump on it!

The E30 12". This thing makes serious thunder! It is required that you cut 2 holes in the rear deck of your car for the porting, again with the goal of keeping all of the bass inside your car! We provide a template for this to make it easy on you, but we do expect you to take measurements!

Here are the ports in place. Yes, they fit snugly in the box...again, it is all about getting ALL of the bass into the cabin!

So very pretty! Such precise craftsmanship! Such amazing sound quality!

The foam gasket is shown here, pre-upholstered:

These are a bit more expensive. We are offering these at $220 in black or $240 in gray. Again, we have these in stock RIGHT NOW!

Email us at sales@germanaudiospecialties.com for more information or a shipping quote.

Thanks for all of your support over the years.

    Luke

awesome.. I'll be in for an 8" box in a couple weeks..
it looks like there's plenty of clearance for a rear strut brace - am I seeing that right?
also, as for the amp in that pic w/ the tape measure, is it mounted flat on the seatback or is it insulated with a wooden board?
    Make the bastard chase you.

I have not yet seen a strut brace that will clear any of our boxes, including this one.

I got a great question on PMs, so I am gonna post it here. I hope you don't mind.

Well, I think if its OK, I am gonna post your question and my answer on the thread!

        Thanks,
        Luke

So, here is my answer...it depends on your seat.

As far as I know, there are a few different options. Here they are in order of performance, sound-wise:

        1. Fold Down (unless closed, then it is the worst)

        2. (arguably) any "ported" seat is on par with arm rest. They do very well!

        2. M3 seat, modified
        3. Cloth/Foam seat, modified
        4. M3 seat, stock
        5. Leather "Sport" seat, modified but not ported
        6. Cloth seat, stock
        7. Leather, stock (don't even think about it, it is terrible)

I can tell you this: there are LOTS of guys out there enjoying tight, clean, rattle free bass in their E30s today using a 10" and a modified leather seat.

If you do the mods carefully, most people can cut half the foam out of the skipass area and you cannot tell from the outside that it has been touched...well, unless you turn the stereo on and watch it jump around!

        Thanks,
        Luke

Luke I'd like a 10" box but being in Ontario Canada is shipping going to be crazy due to the size/weight?.

Well, we are a NAFTA business, supposedly. Last year one Canadian order did get taxed and customs-ed to death, and I have no clue why.

Generally, it is better to ship USPS to Canada. We build our own shipping boxes to minimize weight and size. The e30 10" box weighs 37Lbs, is 36X15X12 in its shipping box.

Let me know, I will get your an exact cost of shipping when you are ready. Expect in the range of $50 or so, I get great prices on shipping.

Haha, free trade my ass-our leader handed you guys the free deal but it certainly doesn't go this way.Surprised that dink wasn't shot-we are TOO laid back as rule up here.:D
Yes USPS is the only way to go,surprised at the $50 guess as I routinely order crap to cross the border and MUCH smaller/lighter parcels usually cost a min. of $25.

Let look at the 'ol bank account and see how soon I can do this.

anyone have a link to show how they ported their seat? i know its simple, but im hoping for some suggestions to get my creative juices flowing

I have the leather sport seat with no pass through and the e3012 box. It sounds fine at low volumes but I cranked it up today and it was vibrating the seat quite a bit. i need to do something to allow that air pressure to release through. nothing has rattled since i bought it until today when i was blasting some dub

btw - i am very picky about sound and is this box is awesome.

When I have some spare cash, I'll be contacting you for a Luke box man. I heard one in a friend's E30 and I'm sold.

Most excellent! Keep me posted, we don't have much storage room and can only build a few at a time.
