My 1995 Touring has rear seat headrests which my friend's 1992 Touring does not. They are smaller than the fronts and appear to be vinyl rather than leather. They aren't listed as an option on the build sheet and I know some guys have done this as a mod, but curious as if this was a factory deal or not.

Leather, vinyl, and cloth headrests were available to match the seats.

i've only ever seen it on the rear seat of m5s (and only in pictures) so it must have been a $$$ option. (or it blocks your vision so no one wants it anyways)
i wish the touring's center fold down armrest actually had the ski pass like on the sedan so i could put my fishing poles in and keep the seats up for passengers.

I used front e34 headrest from the junkyard. The bars need to be trimmed.
$8 total.
Also check some of the European eBay sites, a rear ski pass an option available for the touring.Current

But it sounds like yours are correct.
They sure make a difference to comfort on long drives.

The seat back already has holes for the posts. Dont forget to get the grommets.

i was referring to the ski-pass in my post. the only difference is the rear cover, which can be bought cheaply, if you are in the motherland. I'm going to just cut the appropriate sized hole in the back cover of the seat. i dont ski, but passing fishing poles through the seat without folding it down is perfect when you bring four guys to the lake.
