What are you scrambling to get done before the Picnic?

I'm finally getting close to finishing all the work on my e30 before the picnic.

I had to re-wire some of the stereo after the RCAs behind the deck started to come apart at the connectors. I also found a bunch of old wiring in there from the 1st version the the stereo that was never removed... (Luke) ;)

I also replaced a bunch of little plastic parts that were getting worn out. Parts of the toneau cover, antenna grommet, etc.

I removed the front bumper and Mtech skirt so I could re-hang it more better. It always drooped down more than I wanted. A bit of work with the heat gun and the ABS plastic moved nicely around the mount points. That should help it sit more flush and less sit less sag-y.

Repainted the Guten splitter too and got to work on deep cleaning the leather with magic erasers. It's surprising how much grime white leather collects even when you clean it religiously 3x a week and only sit in it for 4 months out of the year. It's a bitch of a job and takes forever, but it'll look amazing.

Oh and I had the 16" glasspack in the center of the exhaust replaced with a Vibrant resonator, which should help cut down on droning on the highway.

Now it just needs a good wax and engine bay spray-down and she'll be ready to transport kegs up to Tacoma for the party!

All I'll be able to do is a basic wash. It was my intention to do a bunch of stuff over the end of last week and the weekend, but I've been sick, so I'll have to go with a bare bones list.

Install the water pump pulley, radiator and coolant lines, bleed coolant system, get the entire exhaust welded together and installed, build cold air box, adjust suspension, roll the rear fenders even more, install hood and grill, finish the wheels, install aluminum rings on cluster and then vacuum/wash the car since its been collecting dust for half a year.

Put in my M3 rack, clean up the interior lots, mount my tires on my wheels and give it a good polish.

Doesn't sound like a lot, but I leave for the picnic in 52 short hours.

Hopefully I can get the E36 M3 rack in on Friday along with some exhaust cleanup.

Today, swap out the water pump and while I'm in there timing belt on the rat, outside in the rain even though I have a 3 car garage, and service the truck and trailer. Tomorrow I have to wash and clean both cars, Swap the Borbets back onto the rat and put the spacer stacks back on the white car so it doesn't look so stupid. Saturday load up the white car after I help some friends move with the trailer.

Cracked the head in my M42, need to do the following: install rebuilt head, head gasket, rear timing case with new rails, timing gears, seals; profile gaskets, crank seal, upper oil pan gasket, lower pan gasket, oil pickup gasket, oil housing gaskets, fill and bleed cooling system, oil change, reassemble all ancillary items to have car running by Saturday morning. Fun Friday in the works!

The funny thing is I'm busy doing stuff on a bunch of E30's this week but none of it's on my e30.
I'm actually paying someone to detail my car because I don't have time....

Mine went into the body shop a week and a half ago to fix the rock chips, and their painter went on vacation this week... so, I won't be able to make it. Very poor timing on my part. Should have been done a month ago...
