Cable Alternatives & HTPC's (Home Theatre)

Curious as to who's got what. What works and what doesn't. What's worth my time and what isn't.

Good experiences and bad. Lay it on me.

I've had a Roku, and the Chrome Set Top Box setup (can't remember the name of the thing, only had it for a week or two. Did not like it.)

Was considering a Chromecast, but I feel like there are much better options. Happy Friday, Guys.

Roku 3 in the living room.

Netflix, Amazon, VUDU, YouTube, Spotify.

Does everything I need it to. I spend most of my free time taking care of stuff around the house or doing iRacing.

Hell I just replaced the bulb in our DLP after it had been dead for 2 weeks.

Entirely hands off day to day downloads. Totally awesome, nerd factor required to get it set up is higher than an all in one "box" but if you prefer to download content as opposed to stream it, this is hard to beat.

Make one. Cheaper. Can so more then just stream. Etc. I'd use a mini PC and Chromecast.
