    Fs: 1982 bmw 733

I am having issues with the pictures but will ad them (and a link to the craigslist ad)

The time has come to part with my 1982 733. The title is clean and in my name. I got this car with a plan to use it as a daily driver for 6 or 7 months. Well it has been 6 or 7 months and time has come to part with it. It has been good as a daily but I am looking for something sportier (and sporty it isn’t). But if cruising in style is your thing then this is the car for you.
First off the positives, the car has been taken good care of by the previous owners. The body is in what I would consider excellent shape. No it isn’t completely blemish free but there is no rust, the paint is in good shape and considering that it is 32 years old, I am pretty impressed. The interior is in good shape with the back seat being in better condition (I would say 8/10). The front seats are electric sport seats out of an E28 5-series and while the leather is not perfect, I think with a little elbow grease it could be made to look nicer (there are not any cracks or tears it just looks like they have not been conditioned recently). The carpet was replaced by the previous owner and is in good shape with no stains or tears. Probably the biggest let down is the door panels. Specifically the pockets have issues. The previous owner included what he thought were replacements but it turns out they are not. The windows have been tinted and it is in good shape (one area has a scratch). The stereo is not currently in the car as the previous owner hadn’t finished with it when I got it. A stereo does come with the car though.
While the car has high mileage the engine has been well taken care of. I have a folder of paperwork and it is obvious one of its previous owners spent some money on it. The engine is strong and just hearing it run you wouldn’t think there was 316,000 miles on it. I could tell you more but it is better to hear it and drive it. Two owners ago replaced the auto transmission and it shifts with no issue. That owner also replaced the shocks/struts and springs (as you can see from the pictures it has been lowered on Bav Autoport springs). I replaced the front tie rods and had the steering adjusted. He also replaced the exhaust with a nice sounding system that is throatier than stock but not obnoxious. As you can see in the pictures it has some period correct two piece wheels. They are in need of refinishing but they aren’t bad from 10 feet.
As with any car this old there are some issues. I have tried to be as up front about them and can elaborate more if people have specific questions. A summary is below.
    - The seats are electric but they are not hooked up. What that means is you have to use a battery to adjust them. All the electrics work so if you are a wiz with electrical systems you might be able to get them set up without too much challenge.
    - The carpet is loose on the passenger side door jamb (it has come away from the trim). It should be an easy fix but I haven’t gotten around to it.
    - There is a vibration in the drive shaft at about 15 MPH. Once above that it goes away. I had it checked out and the said it isn’t the center support bearing. They also said not to worry about it unless it gets worse as it was only at low speeds.
    - Needs new tires before too long.
    - Cracked dash
Now the price; I have grand illusions of seeing $3000 for it (I’ll wait for you to stop laughing). It is a classic that runs well. That said I am realistic and am open to offers. I am also open to trades for something interesting. A 1999 Chevy Cavalier is not interesting. A 1995 Geo Metro convertible is. Some vehicles I am interested in are listed below but I am into German cars and like I said, if it is interesting I am open to trading for it. I have included some pictures for your perusal but can provide more if needed.
    - 70 or earlier F100
    - Triumph Bonneville
    - BMW of any ilk
    - Most VWs
    - Datsun 510
    - 70s vintage Nova
    - ??? use your imagination

          Those wheels rule. Refinish them.

I would refinish them but I am getting rid of the car and will leave that up to the next owner. If it doesn't sell then it will get parked and added to the list of projects I have.

One last bump. Is there really no market for this car? I would have thought there was.
