driveshaft advice, need more strength(pics inside)

What is everybody using for their driveshaft? I've got a turbo m52 with a ZF320 and the below pictures happen to me this weekend.

It's a fresh swap and this seems to be a very large problem to me. Revshift is sending me an aluminum version of the adapter but it seems like to whole shaft is not strong enough.

Wow, what does that put out for torque #s? Iirc, there was a member selling a custom single-piece driveshaft recently. I'll add the link if I find it.

I haven't dyno'd it yet. Still working out the tune a bit before the dyno. Should be in the 400 range.

It kind of shocked me that it happen considering I'm currently running 205/50/16 continental dw's and this was on the street. Can't believe I managed to hook well enough to bend and break shit.

Maybe those regular home depot bolts don't help either

That was the second set of bolts, the original ones have also bent.

Much more damage occured this time. Has anybody used dss driveshafts or something similar?

I had similar issues, fried a r3vshift aluminum one too. Went back to stock bolts and guibos.
Did you tack weld those nuts?

Something is fishy here....I would not expect that from 400tq. In fact, I would expect the driveshaft to twist before the guibo gets deformed

Who ever responded to my email at revshift said that they only sold the full poly version for a few months and then went back to aluminum. They told me it was bacause in colder weather they found that the poly tends split like in the pics above.

I know the shaft was straight before the drive bacause I just got it back in the car before we went out.

Nothing fishy is going on, just looking to not destroy another shaft. Also I'm not trying to bash on revshift or anything like that, in fact when I emailed them they responded very quickly and made it right immediately without any fuss.

Yes I did thetacoman, I've had a nut come loose before and would rather not do that again so I made sure they wouldn't come off without some effort.

I wasnt saying you were fishy, I was thinking the product was fishy. This should not happen at 400.hp

sorry I took you the wrong way. It seems it was bad enough that they only sold them for a few months.

What kind of power should the factory driveshaft hold?

I ran the revshift aluminum one and twisted three driveshafts the same way. It withstood 600+ftlbs of tq so it's deff a great product.
But ended up switching back to a stock guibo to have some flex to absorb the shock from all the torque.
You could also have a one piece DS made, that will solve the problem.

Those revshift guibo's are shit. You need flex in the driveline. Those things are hard on the drive shaft and hard on your tranny.

I've got a brand new big guibo sitting on the shelf. Would it be safe to give it a shot with a 328 or m3(i think) shaft with some new factory bolts.
