A cop crown Vic makes a nice 3" aluminum DS donor. Cut to fit, it's a mile long.

P71 Interceptor shaft is 3.5", would this fit through the rear subframe?

It does. You'll need to space down the front of the diff slightly (3 washers for me).

I don't, and I won't have my car back for about a week but I can take some then. ^ that looks like it'll work fine.

Yup, just waiting for the front slip yoke to measure the correct length

3 Washers for each of the four bolts? or 3 washers for just the 2 front bolts?

e30_302: PM when you have a chance, I tried to contact you but cant send you a PM

Use a standard GM driveshaft from a Camaro or Firebird, withthe rear end modified with a JagsThatRun diff flange.

A nice thing would be to also change the front yoke to a "Strap-Style" u-joint to make installation and removal of the transmission or drive shaft easier (no removal of the diff.....)
