85 Eta, Fuel but no spark

So I got this 1985 Eta, it hasn't run in about 10 years according to the VIN records. It was given to me by a friend who said he got it to run by spraying starting fluid into the intake, so it must have been getting spark at that time. We towed it to my place to work on it further only to find that, not only was there no fuel, there was no spark either. Here is a list of things we have done so far to try to get it to start properly:

Checked for power at 15 on spark plug coil coil
Continuity between 1 on coil and 1 on ECU
Tested for spark at king lead without going through dist cap, no spark
    Replaced Spark Plugs
    Tried another spark plug coil
    Still no spark

Cut a new valve cover ground and ran it to the frame after scratching off some paint and verified that current flows through it
Replaced both CPSs, checked they are in the correct plugs, swapped them just to make sure
Checked fuse at battery, has continuity
    Replaced ECU
    Still no spark

Old fuel pump was bad, changed that anyways
Power at fuel pump in run and start
Now we have fuel, but still no spark

Replaced main relay and fuel pump relay
    Checked all fuses

    No Spark

Anything else that hasn't been done?

Well it looks like it might be the reference pin on the flywheel. Lot of options here. I've read that upgrading from Motronic Basic to 1.1 is even easier than dealing with the actual problem.

Good news everyone. I checked and found the flywheel pin intact. So since it's not that, I'm out of ideas. Anything else that causes a no start I should check?

Have you checked the obc relay or tried bypassing the obc relay?

I remember reading about the OBC but haven't done a single thing with it. Where is the OBC relay?

The obc relay is on the drivers side, under the kick panel and directly behind the abs module. The obc relay is a black plastic box with 2 green plugs aprox. 4x5x1 inches. The 2largest wires of about 8 ( green and green/red) should have 12v going through them. If only 1 wire has 12v then that's your problem. Then cut the 2 wires and splice together to bypass the obc relay if you are having voltage issues with the obc relay.

Excellent, thanks, will check tomorrow and update. Also going to check a couple other things as well.

^ I should add that you should have voltage on those 2 wires with the ignition on and only cars with 13 button obc's have obc relay boxes. If you have anything else then the above does not apply.

Its the 13 button one. And by ignition you mean in start? Or just in run? Or both?

Alrighty Yoseph. I'll be in the garage tomorrow morning ish, so we'll see what happens.

My dads 87 eta was such a pain in the ass with the no spark crap every 6 months. Once was the ecu, the next was the engine speed sensor, and last was the flywheel pin. but now it runs great and im glad we stuck with it. Good luck.

Is the car a auto or manual?

I would double check the both the reference and engine speed sensors. The trickiest of the problems was the engine speed sensors. It would olm within spec but was bad. It wasn't until a very cold day I olmed the sensor and it failed. Once swapped it fired right up. The car would not start prior but could be push started and once warm it would have spark. It was just weird and I hated that pretty red 325es for over a year. It now has 345,000 miles and pulls away from my 200,000 mile 325es.
