    Garagistic strut bar doesn't fit

Recently bought a strut bar for my 318is so I got the m42 specific bar. I know my car has been in an accident from one of the POs (got hit on driver side door) but I was still hopeful it would fit. Turns out the bar doesn't reach the whole distance. I typically see people having issues where the bar is too long so I'm not sure what to do. Do I have any options or do I need a different bar?

    Thanks!

I did take a look at this and tried this method but I believe it's having the reverse effect of what i need. My strut towers are too far apart to fit the bar on so i need to bring them closer somehow or modify the bar.

EDIT: Apologies if I missed a thread where someone had the same issue but as far as i could see most peoples towers were too close rather than too far apart.

No, it's about half are too long and half are too short (among those with issues).

Aside from shortening it yourself (cutting/welding) or bending the bar you can contact the seller .... you'll likely just have to return it. Again, it's not the fault of the bar manufacturer that these dimensions vary on these cars. There's an infinite number of lengths it could be so it's not something easily avoided.

Take the car to a body shop. They have the tools and equipment to make sure everything is within specs and if not they can correct and align.

Ah okay thanks. Any opinion on trying to force it on? Seems like just too much of a difference but people have told me they basically just hammered in on. Feel like that's just gonna ruin the bar or threads. Will look into talking to Garagistic though.

Good point might have to try that, thanks!
