    Radio Suggestions

Ok, my radio is finnaly going, and i wanted to know your guys suggestions for a radio that would fit the E30 look, and semi-blend in with the rest of my interior. I dont want it to look like i'm going to take off and engage a warp drive or something.

Nakamichi is my enthusiastic suggestion. Order one with the amber illumination. The CD-400 kicks ass! 24-bit DAC!
Or my other suggestion would be a Becker; they make the stock decks for Porsche and Mercedes. They'll be harder to find and probably more expensive.

I support Ken 100%. I have a CD-400 that I got new, shipped off eBay for 344 and it is like a little brick of heaven. The sound is incredible and the design is perfect. Doesn't look a bit out of place.

Color and sound aside, the Nakamichi CD-400 is really lame looking.

i'll add to nakamichi being a nice stock looking upgrade. My cd-350 matches almost perfectly. The newest ones don't look as nice or match as well. I've gotten many comments about how people didn't think cars as old as mine came stock with CD players ;)

Get blaunkpukt, some of it comes original in Europe for BMWs and most of the aftermarkets match our instrumental lights.

Well, i wanted casset so i could hook my MP3 player up to the car radio, and the only thing around here i found is one of those cheesy cassette things with the wire that plugs into your mp3/CD player. So if you have found anything better, please let me know.

what does yr mp3 player have outputs for, mini-jack?...get a cd player that has an AUX input...then drop an RCA-Minijack connection down behind the deck/dash and have it hanging out in the console/ashtray area....then you can plug the mp3 player in, or tuck the lead away when not in use.

oh, and i like the look of my blaupunkt, the white on satin black theme suits the e30 dash well:

A cassette player? What is this, 1987? Have you ever listened to one of those "convertor" units that uses the tape heads? They sound awful.

Join the 21st century, get a CD player head unit with an aux. in jack.

I would go with the previous suggestion of getting a deck with an AUX input. My Kenwood has one that I hook up my MD Player to. The deck also plays MP3's straight from a CD. Most of the better decks are MP3 ready and the higher end ones are already reading .WMA files. I think someone should move this to the I.C.E. section though.
Just livin in the OC minus my E30

I got the perfect thing for your MP3 player..
The IPod has an accesory that plugs into the mini out on your mp3 player that broadcasts a radio frequency like those of after market cd changers. you just set it as one of your presets and play your mp3 player to your hearts content. no wires and no cassette ruining head adapters. now you can finally join the refvolution have a cd player in your car..
