    Stroker kit or e36 swap?

I have a 86 eta im planing on either getting a stroker kit or a 328is engine out of a e36....was wondering which would be the cheapest of the 2 and which would have more gains.....thanks....and anyone with one of the 2 mentioned share your story thanks!!

      power vs. $......
the e36 swap will yield more power for less $.
      Below the radar...

i dont know how well obd-2 engines adapt to e30's, but if its no big deal or you can just convert it to obd-1 then i'd deffinately get the M52

It's not that, it's just that this topic has been beaten to DEATH. Do a search, you should be able to find some info, or talk to Stu.

My opinion: go for the twin cam. As stated above, you will get more HP for your investment versus a stroker M20.

one aspect that i don't think has been mentioned, but is a major reason i'm M50-swapping, not M20 rebuilding:

                        the maintence.

M50 o course has better performance technology - higher compression, 4 valves per cylinder, and vanos ('cept '92, but ya knew that) :P

The m20 has the good ole engine feel, with the ole engine maintence that needs to be done.

but the new technology goes further more than performance upgrades, it has maintence changes: No distributor to replace, no valves that need adjustment, NO TIMING BELT, etc. 8)

For a daily driver, M50 would seem cheaper to continue driving. The only problem i know of is the plastic impeller on the thermostat, which can easily be replaced.
