Could be a faulty turn signal relay, inside the underside of the steering column. Is it a continuous buzz, or intermittent like the turn signal itself?

Its not that hard. You seem to have taken the wrong approach to get to the relay.

Remove the steering wheel and kneebolster.

Remove the lower cover of the plastic cover on the steering column by taking two upper screws that are immediately visible where the stalks are.

Remove 2 screws on the lower side in a rectangular slot and you have access to your relay.

If your car has an airbag, disconnect your battery for a while and look underneath your steering column. You will see a small compartment. Open it and you will see an orange device, disconnect it for a while to discharge the charge for the airbag.

You can then proceed to do the aforementioned steps above. If you find this confusing, or lack the confidence (no offense meant) I suggest you refrain from doing it as the air bag can hurt you pretty good if it goes off in your face.

            Good luck

Im gathering that everyone atleast once or twice has taken a steering wheel off before. :D

One time after putting my wheel back on it wasnt straight and i kept having trouble so i grabbed the socket, extension and rachet and went out on the road and soon as the wheel was straight i stopped dead center in the road and put on the hazard and got the wheel straight then pulled off into a neighborhood and put the bolt back on blah blah blah.

It was on a road that isnt used often and it took me less then two minutes to do and i was right next to some condo's to pull off into to get off the road.
