Fender flares: How best to fill them out...

Hey guys. I am continually planning my build I finally have almost all the motor parts for my swap, and am now starting to take a look at the wheels and suspensions pieces. I really want to add fender flares to the car. I am already having to modify lots of pieces of the car, so I might as well keep on going.

If I go with a fender flare kit, say from kamotors, what size and offset would work for actually filling them out? I would hate to add the flares and then have the wheels look sunken in...

I have been looking at xxr 527's since I have had them on an old car and really do like the way they look. I have seen some such as these

I think a 25 offset should clear the strut, but how wide can I go?

The offset of those wheels would probably need at least a 30mm spacer to justify flares.

I think the regular kamotors flares give you an additional 30mm up front and 50mm rear clearance. (rough estimate)

The best way to figure out what you need, is to see where the wheel you want will sit in relation to the fender. Then add a spacer to bring the wheel out the additional difference given by the flare. When you have the final offset you can find out what wheel is made in that offset or what wheel/spacer combo will give you that offset.

I personally would only run flares if I was trying to fit a 17x10+ with a 255+ tire.

Bringing this one back since I am finally close to ordering wheels and the flares I want...

Can anyone help me figure out width and offset for a 17" wheel to either fill out standard KA flares or the ultrawides? Still debating between the two. I am building a 24v turbo car, so I will need some extra rubber to put the power down...
