    (Re)Blacken my grille and mirror shrouds?

    Black plastic has faded, naturally, on exterior bits of my coupe. Is that plastic dye at the auto shop the preferred way to freshen up the looks? Or is that a messy shortcut?

    SEM trim black paint works well, and will also work well on the grilles. However, you should just get a new set of kidney grilles if faded as the all black look doesn't work on most E30s IMO.

      There's some stuff called Mother's Back to Black. I'm not sure how well it works, but it's supposed to restore the faded black plastic. I'd been wanting to use it on my old car but never got a chance.
