Installing New shocks and springs - any "while I'm there items?"

I'm installing new h&r sports springs and bilstien sport shocks in my new to me 1990 325ic. The car has about 80,000 on the clock. I had a mechanic give it a once over and other than the front shocks and springs, everything else underneath appears to be ok. There is a little play in the steering but nothing I can't live with. This will be a weekend DD car for me. I plan to do the rear myself and take it to the garage for the front.
My question is since the front is already apart and I have the sunk cost of the alignment, are there any "while I'm there items" I should do at the same time? Money is somewhat of an object but I don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish and like I mentioned before everything else appears to be ok.
    Thanks in advance!!

Hi! Get on BCB (bcbimmers.com) and post up there.

That being said, I'd do the front suspension while in there personally.

I ordered the 9 piece front suspension Lemforder kit off FCPEuro and couldn't be happier with it. Next up is replacing my shock and springs which I need to do asap but my budget has been blown and then some on my turbo build! Hope to see you around Langley too, I'm in a 325 Royalblau coupe w/ 16" BBS RS's

Get new strut bearings, washers and nuts for the front shocks, new rear shock mounts and reinforcement plates for the rear.

My control arms and tie rods "appeared" to be OK, but once I removed them, they were extremely loose.

Since you have to separate the outer ball joints on the control arms and tie rods, might as well replace them. Lemforder control arms aren't that expensive, same for tie rods.

I would do the sway bar bushings as well while you are at it. If you are dropping the front subframe as well then do the sway bar reinforcements, and motor mount reinforcements. I have a engine support bar if you need it.
