2/89 Build Date Vert Euro bumper question

    Morning Guys,

Ok I see write ups and posts about it but never a clear answer as to if the slim chrome Euro bumpers are a direct swap to an 89 convertible still with the diving board bumpers.

If anyone could help me out, trying to see if I just wasted a bunch of money etc on bumpers that will be a nightmare to mount.

    Thank you!

Looks like this confirms the full facelift wasn't until 10/90 on the convertibles.

But, does it still have the high rear arches like the early models, making the swap bolt on?

All verts have low rear arches just like the late model 2 and 4 door cars. You'll need the vert endcaps for the rear bumper.
13 and 14 https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_0541 as they are what makes up the difference in the rear arch design for the thin euro bumper to be used on a vert.

Also they are not a direct bolt on on the rear, you have to drill some holes. But there is a writeup on here showing where to drill the holes. Plus you have to change the pigtails on the front turnsignals since they are different then the U.S. connectors. But if I recall the writeup covers all of it.

Beautiful, Thank you so much for the fast reply Jason!

Having always had late model coupes this convertible is confusing me a little.

        Thanks!
