    AC Schnitzer Coilovers

    What's up e30 drivers....

Anyone ever seen AC Schnitzer coilovers for the e30... made by bilstien...?

I got these YEARS back... the collars did fit the springs they came with... so I had a bud machine a couple out. Just because I was tired of seeing them sitting on the shelf apart.

    Let me know your thoughts..

I attached the pics below... ?? Not sure how that works.. guess we'll see

    Thanks!!

    Ciao

Can't say that I have. I knew they had a suspension kit bit never seen coilovers. Who made the springs?

Not sure... but if I end up using them, I will run some different springs on them.

Can you tell me more about where you got them, how you came across these?

Certainly nothing like this is in the catalogs.

Anymore details on the springs? Picture up close of the welds?

I am thinking someone made their own coilovers using ACS branded front shocks, which are custom valved Bilsteins.

I have a rear set of ACS Bilsteins. Still interested in a front set. And interested in these, too. I will look around more and see what I can find out.

Contacting ACS will yield nary a response. Even the old school installers are in the dark. ACS was pretty bad with record keeping. Even 90s Dinan builds are not on file. It seems common practice for the tuners in that time.

Maybe you can post some pics of your rears (so to speak...)... =P

I got them from a fellow enthusiast.. from a different forum... like 10 years ago or more.. from a dude in Canada A...

I don't believe the springs are the original...

I do believe they should be potentially united with the rears.

They have a sticker with some writing with a ball point pen that's hard to make out.. they also have adjusters on the bottom.

              No mention of coilovers.

You have a homebrew, someone deciding to use ACS for their project.

Out of curiousity.... what publications are you looking at for info?

I wonder if these were off one of their racecar.

I can't see these being a home brew... and if they were, why on earth would someone laser etch... AC Schnitzer Motorsports on them..?

If I was going to pay to have that done... id put "MAD GREEK MOTO - DOUBLE SECRET SPECIAL EDITION" or something even more lame possibly... ;D

Thank you for looking either way!

Oh!!! I'd still love to see what rear ACS suspension you have! Pics?

There are folks here who make their own coilovers. Why use ACS? Perhaps they were laying around.

With the part number, I can look more.

I have dealer catalogs for ACS, No. 1 and No.4.

I also have a print catalog with all the parts of the day: Hartge, Dinan, ACS....

It does say AC Schnitzer Motorsport. Perhaps it was used on one of their builds but not offered for sale.

Certainly possible. Seeing a PN would be great.

The E30 M3 suspension was a full kit to include the spindle as shown.

                        Post the PN.

Short of it being in a catalog, it will be difficult to answer. ACS kept no records of this stuff that survived to today. Maybe an old employee of theirs could help.

While researching what I believe to be a genuine early model Dinan turbo 318i, I found an article on such a car. I wrote to the author and he did not recall a thing about the day with Steve Dinan test driving his cars. UFB.
