Let's talk e36's. What e36 parts will be valuable and harder to find in the future?

I'd like to build an e36 in a few years. I've been into e30s for a while and have watched them get harder to find in the junkyards. We all know the parts that are most valuable and hard to find for these cars (LSDs, sport seats, nice dashboards, manual swap parts, etc.).

What e36 parts will be harder to find in the next 5-10 years? They're still pretty common to find in junkyards at the moment. Trying to take advantage before they dry up.

Yeah, pretty much all the must-haves for e30s applies to e36s, though I think LSDs and sport seats are harder to come by. E36s don't have to deal with cracked dashboards, but I'm sure there will be a demand for black/gray interior parts. Maybe sideskirts for those with early models that want them. Beyond that I can't think of anything.

they are such a shitty car to work on.

i prefer to think of the e36 as the new e21.

everyone wants 2002's and e30's no one wants the lowly e21. perhaps collectors will skip over these and head for the e46.

I was a fan of the e21 I had for a hot sec (only 3.5 months). Did a clutch slave on it, and that was easy enough to access. What's hard about them? Interested cause I kinda want another one some day. It was my dad's first bimmer.

Also I will def be one of the guys passing up and e36 for an e46. you can get an early 2000's m3 for a steal right now IMO. If I had $15k lying around that's what I'd buy.

nothing is hard to work on with an e21. i was referring to the 36 in this case. my comparison to the 21 was that no one wants them.

NIce ROW E21 is smart looking and ones that are an 323i are cool but for the most part we got the ugly ducklings.

94 325i Motorsport aka the M3 without the engine and the 95 318Ti both are considered collectables. Canadian 95 M3 with S50B30 and 6 itb just because they imported so few before they stopped that quickly.

Stuff we got here in the US was nothing spectacular. E36's were built during the Green Party days so they are disposable cars think of Mercedes E-class from the same time the wiring harness's are biodegradable, people with W124 and W123 have to swap out their engine and body harness's because they short out much like Audi's.

Now that being said I like my E36 M3 and 332Ti

Anything LTW, but good luck finding those parts in a junkyard. Some of the last parts finally started going NLA a few years ago and prices skyrocketed shortly after. I made massive triple-digit returns off selling some LTW parts I had been sitting on for a while.

                    Present:
2012 BMW 135i Space Grey Metallic M-Sport DCT Dinan S2

                    2003 Honda Civic EX (sedan)
                    Past:
                    2011 135i Space Grey Metallic M-Sport 6MT
1999 BMW M3 Techno Violet Metallic on Mulberry
                    2005 Audi S4 quattro 6MT

Any idea what models came with LSDs or sport seats? I know my friend's '95 m3 came with sport seats and not Vaders.

I remember your thread about e36s now. I just pulled an e36 starter at the junkyard recently...not a very easy job lol.

Are e46s that much better? I feel like those would be even more of a pain in the ass to work on. Build quality I know is better but how difficult are they to work on?

A '95 318ti is collectible?? I do like TI's and it is pretty hard to find parts for them. A lot of them were automatic too, 5 speeds are not as common.

95 318Ti Clubsports, only came in Hellrot or Schwartz had all exterior pieces of M3 but alas nothing upgraded under hood and had the Sport's suspension and LSD after 95 all Ti's became open diff much like everthing else that was non-M.

considering they were a high failure rate you think they'd supply more of 'em
