    1988 BMW E30 M3 15k Original Miles!

    1988 BMW E30 M3

    VIN: WBSAK0309J2197176

    Production Date: 12/1987

    15,632 Original Miles,

Exterior: 203 Salmon Silver Metallic (Lachssilber Metallic)

    Interior: 0295 Natur Leather

This color combination of Lachssilber Metallic/Natur Bison Leather was not officially offered by the factory only Black Bison Leather or Cardinal Red Bison Leather was available with Lachssilber Metallic. We believe this car was special ordered and is one of six in this color combination.

    Options:

0401 Steel Power Sunroof , 0410 Power Windows 2 DR, 0530 Manual Climate Control, 0540 Cruise Control, 0551 On-Board Computer, 0675 Stereo Sound System, 0900 Anti Theft Immobilizer, 0941 Special Equipment Handling

    History:

This M3 was originally delivered to its first owner Corey J. Haim the child actor/movie star (The Lost Boys) in Los Angeles, CA in December 1988. Corey kept the car until late 1989 at which point it was sold and exported to a private collector in Japan. I re imported into the USA in May of this year. Only driven sparingly over the years the car currently has 15,650 miles.

    Condition & Maintenance:

Although the car arrived from Japan with extensive service history (in Japanese) I decided to embark on a comprehensive mechanical re commissioning due to the cars age and low miles (invoices available on request). Below is a list of work recently completed with OEM Parts:

New Gas Tank, Fuel Pump & Drive Shaft Bearing (fitted in Japan)

Changed all fluids & filters (Redline Oils)

    Valve Adjustment

    New Alternator

    New Battery

    New Spark Plugs.

New Coolant Expansion Tank & Thermostat.

    New Windshield Washer Reservoir

    New Drive Belts

Serviced the Instrument Cluster with New SSI Board

Completely serviced the brake system and replaced any parts required, pads and rotors show +75% wear remaining.

Serviced the A/C System with R12

    Replaced front lip spoiler

Sourced correct OEM newly refurbished wheels and center caps added new Yokohama S Drive tires including the spare.

A comprehensive paint and interior detail has also been completed.

The car has received some paint work during it’s time in Japan, it shows no evidence of accident damage or rust and the paint shows very well.

The car is completely stock, unmodified and as delivered, apart from OEM ROW/EURO Front Fender Side Marker Lights which were required for importation into Japan, to compliment these I added the OEM ROW/Euro Front Bumper Tow Hook Covers & the Rear License Plate Panel. It comes with a complete tool kit, jack etc… & M3 Owner’s Manual, with most of the original documents intact.

At this point the car is immaculate needs nothing and is ready for a new owner to enjoy.

    Price $120,000

The car is located in Toledo, OH and has a lien free Ohio Title.

Special car indeed with that lachs/natur combo anomaly as well...love it or hate it. Corey Haim was like 16 when he got this M3.

Thanks for the replies and positive comments. We looked long & hard for blow under the back seat that one of the Corey's might have forgotten about, no luck!

Regarding the asking price, I already turned down a wholesale offer of $90k. I thought I'd put it on the market and see where it ends up, the low miles are a big part of this.

I've no doubt you would have seen AT LEAST 100% mark up from them had you accepted their low offer. You were smart to turn them down.

Beautiful example. Likely one of the only ones left in this condition.

                  Dunno

An 1987 M6 with half the miles (7,000) sold of about $93k? on CCC.

Sure the estimate was from 100-120k for that car as well.

The M3 seems perfect but there is no originality in the paint anymore. Why was the paint corrected anyway?

Did the whole car get a respray or was it just the bumpers? Makes a difference for some.

It's really hard to tell what this might bring to the right collector but 90k isn't insulting either.

                  glws

I would need to see a paper trail on this one to prove the mileage. Anyone notice the paint is worn on the brake and clutch pedals? I know big feet do that in the toe area but after 15k??

It's also seen some heat. Seatbelt buckles are pinkish instead of red red and the map pockets have darkened.

Who previously owned it is so irrelevant, infact a questionable celebrity prob would do harm to the fairy tale 15k mile car....that said, current market will justify 90-100k if it checks out

There is also a real incentive in japan to keep the KM's low as high mileage cars get taxed like crazy. Its extremely easy to "disable" the odo on an e30's.

Lets hope the paper trail checks out on this one!

If I were in the market for a low mileage E30 M3, the fact that it was previously owned by Corey Haim would definitely add to the value.
